Last Saturday, I watched a film called “Stop Loss”.
The film is about some soldiers’ experience during the war of Iraq. The leading role-Sgt. Brandon King, together with some of his friends, was on guard when some terrorists attacked them. These American soldiers searched the houses to find out the terrorists but unfortunately, they killed some citizens during the tasks.
The death of friends and citizens impressed Sgt. Brandon King a lot and he was eager to go back home to live in a peaceful life. After a long time, Sgt Brandon King went back Texas at the end of his duty. But the things didn’t go like what he thought. The President used the “Stop Loss” procedure to force many soldiers like him to fight again in Iraq. The painful memory and the unhealthy status of his companies made him resist the procedure. At the end of the film, Sgt Brandon King was leaving Texas to Canada when he suddenly changed his mind. He went back to Iraq again with a mixed thought of anger, disappointment and deeply loves of his hometown.
The film is filled with deep depression and anger. As a soldier, what you can do is obeying the order without hesitation. The government and military is powerful and you can not fight against them. (更多…)
